Can we stop with all of the 'who has the prettiest car this season' nonsense? A wise man once said to me, "Every racecar is a show car, but not every show car is a racecar." So let's all take a step back and admire the pinnacle of technology that F1 represents and hope for a good season that makes the haters forget why they were hating in the first place.

It's one thing to have a design element that makes a car faster, it's another to have a design element that makes a car faster in light of a poorly written rule.

But does it really matter what they look like? Isn't the point of having rules like that to keep the playing field as even as possible?
I just think that by the second race of the season no one will be caring what the cars look like anyways, it's drama for drama's sake at this point.

As someone who likes to understand the changing aerodynamics of the cars, yes I do care what they look like, though not in the way we both implied earlier.
I do think the looks will either garnish attention from certain people which may change some things, for better or worse, in F1; hopefully for the better.

That's not a matter of you caring about the form of the looks though, that comes back to function. Ugly or not, I think it's interesting seeing the creative ways the teams come up with to squeeze as much as they can out of the rules they have to deal with.
